In China sales of wood based panels, including particleoboard, plywood and MDF mainly, have grown by an average of 20% annually since 2007 to reach to 272 million m3 in 2012, according to the reports of the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).

However, new policies from Beijing government in the Chinese real estate sector and weak international demand have slowed the expansion of particleboard sales.

The State Forestry Administration estimated that production and sales of China’s wood based panel in 2012 were 286 million m3 and 272 million m3, a grown up of 21% and 17% respectively.
